Those of you who always tell me that I should be making a living through my art, I challenge you now to bring it on! - NOW is the time to offer action in place of opinion. Reviews of my work have been increasingly more positive, and interest from collectors and galleries is on the rise. I can feel, and see, my work improving with each piece as I gain more knowledge from time spent at the easel. Opportunity is presenting itself, it is now a matter of grasping it firmly.
Pride is no concern here. I am willing to put aside all pride and admit that I need some help from others to move forward.
I am not much different than millions of others who have been thrashed by the current state of the economy. My income is less than half of what it was a year ago. 30 years of dedication in the Graphic Arts industry have left me hanging, as printing companies drop like flies. All those positive employment references have little meaning when no jobs exist. All that hard work means nothing when there is no work available. All that wasted experience...
What I seek in asking for others to invest in me is not "fame and fortune" as some have accused me of. What I seek is time. Time to spend at the easel, improving the quality of my art. Time learning to reach the inner soul of those who see my work. Time to produce more work, and seek out more subject matter first-hand. Time to gain knowledge and insight. If the work is of fine enough quality, then some level of success may follow, but that is secondary to the goal of reaching an audience and affecting them in ways that leave a permanent impression on them. If you are willing to be of assistance in these goals, please read on, or contact me directly.
"I believe that as an artist, it is not my purpose to dictate what the viewer sees on the canvas, but rather to pose a question that causes them to seek an answer within themselves. Each individual brings their own life experiences into the decision, and for each of them the meaning is truly unique. My passion lies in reaching that inner self, and drawing it into, and out of, my art. My goal is to create a moment that touches their soul."
